Network marketing professionals all have one thing in common. Pro's sponsor more people than you do. You may take offense to that and frankly you should. No one in Network Marketing ever created a thriving business by being "average."
Network marketing professionals all have one thing in common. Pro's sponsor more people than you do. You may take offense to that and frankly you should. No one in Network Marketing ever created a thriving business by being "average."
Professionals put in the sweat equity to get better at their
craft which is moving products and services through their networks. Money is
only made in network marketing (or any direct sales business) when something is
sold.
Here are 5 professional tips that will help you do the same
thing:
1. Control the Call. Prospecting by
phone is still a major game changer in MLM. However, most distributors look at
calling people with fear and apprehension.
Pro's don't do this. Think of it like this, you are in fact not
calling someone to "pitch" them your deal or "sell" them
your deal. You are interviewing someone who has raised their hands and said,
"I'd be interested in a home based business."
Approach each call as such, an interview. Have your questions
out. You can disqualify or qualify a prospect in under 2 minutes if you ask the
right questions.
Your key goal is to see if they are right for you. Not the other
way around.
2. Stay on Track. You may be floundering
around trying to figure out which method of prospecting is right for you.
Go with the one you gravitate towards naturally. If you like
calling people, then get some leads and start calling. If you like building an
optin list giving away a free report then building a relationship with the list
then calling select people, then do that.
Whatever method of prospecting you choose, stick to it and run
with it.
3. Follow up but don't chase. Chasing is
almost a natural reaction for distributors. Especially in the beginning when
you don't have anyone in your organization or buying products.
You get a person interested then proceed to hover over them
acting as if they are the "Golden goose" who's going to set you free.
Stop. Don't do it.
Follow up is important but do not chase people.
One easy way to avoid this is to look at it like this, you're
going to have to talk to 100-200-300 people before you find the right people to
work with. You don't have time to hover over any single person or a couple of
people.
Qualify them or disqualify them and move to the next person.
4. Find Your Place of Power. What I mean
here is you are the one in control. You are interviewing people for your
business. Even if you've only been in MLM for a single day you still know more
about your company, products, and opportunity than your prospect does.
Use
that as leverage. Your power comes from controlling the conversation with
questions then shutting up and listening to your prospects. Don't argue or try
to convince people. If you have to do either of those you're talking to the
wrong person, move on.
This
idea, this attitude, puts you in control, giving you a place of power.
5. Don't Stop. Your only going to fail
if you quit. Plain and simple. Professionals take on their daily tasks with a
smile. They don't quit because it's hard or "takes too much effort."
You cannot fail if you do not quit. Decide to stick to a
prospecting routine for 6 months or 12 months then go out and get it done.
Professionals sponsor more people than you do only because they
find a method of putting eyeballs on their opportunities and products, then
learn the skills they need to control the situation, then they go out and do
it, a lot.
